We have entered a period of time when issues of security and safety are paramount in people’s minds. This is reflected in the many rumours and stories that are floating around various communities in Cairo. The school has always been very conscious of matters related to security, but in recent times we have redoubled our efforts to ensure the utmost safety of the children in our care.
On Tuesday 17th January we had the opportunity to visit the Baby ICU ward of the Abou El Reesh hospital downtown. The incubator we donated had NCBIS written on it and it was already functioning. Furthermore, Reem a baby girl who was born, 3 days before we donated the incubator, with no esophagus was the first neo-natal to be placed in the NCBIS incubator. We met Dr. Assem El Feky who runs the neo-natal department at the hospital and he confirmed that this incubator will save at least 30 babies a year.
We are delighted to inform you that we have launched our new school website on 10 December 2010.
This morning I received official notification that we have been awarded full authorized status as an IB Diploma school. It was particularly gratifying to note this authorized status came without any further recommendations or requirements as is sometimes given to schools by the IB. This is very positive indication of our state of readiness for the start of our IB Diploma programme in September. I would like to thank and congratulate everyone on this achievement.
